The Other “face” of Facebook

facebook-talks-to-your-kid-about-drugs-and-alcoholIt was inevitable. Like most good things, there is often a potential downside and this is probably not what this social media site originally intended.

Sure, these sites attempt to connect long lost friends and keep BFFs closer than ever before. You know what I mean-the postings of what Sean made for dinner, daily selfies of Gertrude and what their new home decor looks like. You’ve seen the photos of every party, every get together, every social gathering involving more than one person or animal, including dogs and cats, and perhaps you’ve noticed a common element in many of the photos. Alcohol…..and lots of it.

This recent article from Down Under highlights how the ‘official and unofficial ‘ Facebook pages promote excessive drinking.

For me, this just reinforces what we should have known all along- always think before you hit post. Is this the ‘face’ you really want to portray?
