Do you agree that married women are driven to drink?

I just came across a very interesting article this morning as I was reading the newspaper with my cup of java-no sugar, double cream please.

Initially, I thought that the article meant that the stress and challenges of being married caused women to drink more alcohol – perhaps a statement that is open to discussion 😉 . However, this really wasn’t the intent of the article. It was actually summarizing a US research study about the alcohol use of men and women in and out of relationships.

This got me thinking about drinking behaviours and maybe sometimes it’s like popcorn or potato chips. You know when you smell it or see it, you then decide you want some. Is alcohol the same? When you see your partner having a glass of wine at the end of a long day, do you decide that looks good and have one yourself?
