What about the health benefits of alcohol?

One of the stories that media love to cover is the relationship between good health and drinking. There have been so many of these types of stories that one would be hard pressed to find consensus on just what the health benefit is and how much one should drink to enjoy that benefit. In fact, drinking less than a standard drink per day will provide a health benefit for your cardiovascular system. However, if you really want to improve your health, you’d be better off eating a healthy diet, getting regular exercise and giving up smoking than starting to drink, or drinking more.

  1. It is nice to get clarity on this. You hear so much about the anti-oxidants in red wine and the French diet. But there seems to be so much conflicting information from one research report to the next. Best to look at overall health and lifestyle, I think, than focus on a potential benefit in a particular glass.

    1. Yes a good health benefit is found in the red wine itself, and not the alcohol, as a matter of fact their was a study done that found them same beneficial property’s in just regular grape juice, a benefit from the alcohol itself is a hoax, I’m looking to refined that info now, is how I stumbled upon this page here.
